Cancellations
For orders for non-prescription eyewear, i.e. spectacle frames without lenses in, or non-prescription sunglasses, your order can be cancelled at any time up until despatch. We will issue
a full refund onto your payment card.
Orders for prescription eyewear go through various stages in the manufacturing process, which are explained in more detail on our help pages. If your
order is listed as 'New Order' or 'Accepted', then we can still issue a full refund for the products that have been ordered. Once your order has reached the stage of 'Awaiting Parts' then we have
ordered lenses that are specific to your prescription. As per our returns policy below, we then reserve the right to withold a sum of up to 50% of the lens price. You may of course still cancel the order,
and we will refund the due balance to your payment card.
Returns
Upon Receipt \ Within 14 days
Upon receipt of your glasses, please inspect them to ensure that they are in good condition and are the product that you have ordered. If you believe there is an error in the manufacture of your glasses, or
they are not as ordered, please contact us as soon as is possible, and do not use the glasses. We will then guide you through our returns process which will run along the following lines;
- You return the glasses to us, including a copy of the prescription from which you ordered the glasses.
- We will then check the glasses and verify that they match the prescription that you have supplied.
- If an error is found and it is due to a manufacturing fault, we will rectify this error without charge to yourself, and may at our discretion refund any reasonable postage costs incurred by you in
returning the glasses to us.
- If there is an error due to the way that you have entered the prescription when ordering your glasses, we will contact you before taking any further action.
Obviously we can then alter the glasses so that they match your prescription but you would be liable for any costs incurred.
- If your new glasses match both the order, and the prescription that you have supplied, then it is possible that the optician who supplied your original prescription has made an error. In this
case we would advise you to return to that optician for your prescription to be double-checked. Once this has taken place, please contact us again and we will discuss options with you.
If you are dis-satisfied with the product for any reason then you have 14 days from the day of receipt to return them for a refund. For non-prescription items, we will issue a complete refund,
onto the card that was used for the original payment, providing that the goods are returned to us in an as-new, unworn condition. For prescription items, the lenses in the frames will have been
custom-made to your specifications, which means they are not covered by the distance selling regulations. In this case if you wish to return the glasses, then we will issue a refund for 100% of the
price of the frames, and as a minimum 50% of the price of the lenses - though in exceptional circumstances we may refund more than this.
However, before you simply return your glasses to us, if the problems that you have with them fit into any of the below categories then there may be further options open to you that would solve these.
You'd like a different Frame colour
If you wish to change your glasses for the same frame, but in a different colour (note, the size of the frame must be the same), then in most cases we will be able to transfer your lenses from the old
frame to the new one. This will then save you the cost of new lenses. There will be an administration charge of £5 for this, plus if the glasses are being delivered outside of the UK, the appropriate
postage charges from the top of this document will apply.
Your frames don't fit properly
Most high-street opticians will adjust spectacles for you. There may be a small charge for this, but if you obtain a receipt for this adjustment and forward this to us, then we may, at our discretion,
issue a voucher on your account to be used for future purchases. The amount to be credited for this will not exceed £5.
You'd like your lenses to be thinner
Sometimes spectacle lenses will come out thicker than your expectations. Upgrading your lenses to a better lens material may be possible in order to reduce the thickness \ weight of the lenses. Rather than
having to pay for a whole new set of lenses, we will charge you only the difference in price between the lenses that you originally ordered, and the lenses that you have upgraded to. There will also be an
administration charge of £5 for this, plus if the glasses are being delivered outside of the UK, the appropriate postage charges from the top of this document will apply.
After 14 days
If you believe there is a fault with the frames or lenses that arises outside of 14 days from when you received the order, you may choose to return the order (either complete or partial) for our assessment.
If we believe the fault to be due to defective goods, then we may choose to either repair or replace the goods under warranty. There will be an administration charge of £5 for this, plus if the
glasses are being delivered outside of the UK, the appropriate postage charges from the top of this document will apply.
In the event that the damage is judged to be due to normal wear-and-tear, mis-treatment or accident, or the problem arises outside of 12 months from the date of original receipt of the order, then no
warranty will apply. In this case we shall contact you to advise of any costs before carrying out any remedial work.
