We are committed to the responsible transmission and handling of your personal information, and the below page gives you an overview of how we protect and use the data that we collect. While you are browsing and using this website, the information that we obtain about you can be split into two broad categories. Information that you give us - which normally contains personal information such as names, addresses etc, and Automatic Information which is most often anonymous information that is collected about your use of the site. Our handling of both of these types of information is discussed in more detail below.

Information that you give us
When you register with, or shop with Fashion4Eyes, there are certain items of personal information that are required. These include your name, address and contact details, and in the case of ordering prescription eyewear, your prescription will also be transmitted, and will be stored on our servers. Whenever personal information is being transmitted between your computer and our servers, it is sent over an encrypted connection using 256 Bit Encryption to ensure the confidentiality of your data. All of this data is stored on our secure servers, such that we (and you) may have access to it when required for further orders etc.
The exception to the above is credit-card information. When paying by credit-card you have the option of paying through Paypal, or taking advantage of the extra security offered by Mastercard Securecode \ Verified by Visa by making your payments via Barclaycard's online payment gateway. You may also choose to pay using PayPal Express (in which case your credit card details will be entered on PayPal's site). When you give us your credit-card details, we pass them securely to PayPal for the purposes of payment processing. To enhance your security, your credit card details are not stored on our servers, so you will need to re-enter them each time you purchase from us. When paying through Barclaycard's ePDQ service, your credit-card details are entered directly on the Barclays site so we never encounter that information.
Currently we do not offer a mail or telephone order service, so it is unlikely that you will be passing your credit card details to us via these means. In the event that this happens, any recording of these numbers by Fashion4Eyes shall be kept to a minimum. Where we are manually entering your credit card details for processing, this will be done while you are on the phone so that we are not creating any record of this data. The remainder of the order form, which will contain your prescription, delivery address and possibly other personal information, will be shredded once your order has been entered into our computer systems for processing.
The information that you provide us will be used for the fulfilment of your orders. In addition to this, should we need to contact you regarding your order, we will use any of the contact methods that you have provided. At other times, we may use your contact details to keep you informed of developments on our site via our regular newsletter or otherwise, and we may also let you know about any special offers that we are running. The services that you are subscribed to can be viewed by visiting the newsletters page under your account. You can use this page to opt in, or out, of any of our newsletters \ services at any time.
In the event of Fashion4Eyes being acquired by another company, the customer information that has been collected will be provided to that company. This will enable the other company to continue to provide you with the levels of service that you have been used to. We shall take all necessary steps to ensure that any future owner of this business will treat your information with at least the same level of care as we have outlined here.
Other than outlined above, unless there are exceptional circumstances*, and we have spoken to you and obtained your permission, we will not provide any of your personally identifiable information to any third party for any purpose.
* An example of these circumstances would be if we needed to contact your optician to confirm aspects of your prescription before supplying glasses.

Automatic Information
Like many websites, we use "cookies" to store information regarding your use of this website. Cookies are a small file that is stored on your computer, and in our case they are only used to provide a unique identifier for your "session" with us. This identifier consists of 26 alpha-numeric characters, and allows us to provide services such as the shopping cart. The identifier is generated randomly each time you come to the site, and does not contain any personal information.
While accessing this site, certain anonymous information about you, such as your Internet protocol (IP) address, your navigation through the Site, the software used and the time spent, along with other similar information, will be processed on our behalf by google.com. This information will not specifically identify the user. The information will only be used internally, and will be used to improve on the shopping experience for all of our customers.
